Earlier this year, we introduced the SharePod, our point-to-point solution for "everything else". SharePod allows you to take just about any device with an unencrypted HDMI output and stream it live to your wePresent unit. Compatible with both the WiPG-1600 and the WiPG-2000, the SharePod does all the rendering for other devices, meaning you can use a digital camera, microscope, or document reader just as you would any other mobile device connected to your wireless gateway. Today, we'll go over how to pair a SharePod to your wePresent, how to use it, and a few other little things.
Sometimes it isn't enough to have a presentation displayed up on the screen. Your screen might be too small, some in your audience could suffer from poor eyesight, or you might just be in a classroom where you need to engage mobile devices in order to keep the attention of your students. Recognizing all of these, plus the fact that it's just handy for your audience to have the ability to view your slides at their leisure, wePresent features a function we call WebSlides. Simply put, WebSlides is the ability to access and view the presentation from any device's browser at your own pace. It's very easy to use, so let's talk about how it works.
We talk a lot about the wePresent's ability to connect up to 64 users together for collaborative efforts, but what does it actually mean to work with that? Moderator control allows a teacher or meeting leader to choose which devices are displayed - up to 4 at a time - from a handy web control panel, meaning you'll be able to work together with your audience, rather than just talking to them. Learning how to use the moderator control panel is easy, and only takes a few minutes to master. Let's take a look.
Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space. -Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Space is still big news, that much hasn't changed. SpaceX recently experienced a string of high-publicity successes with their Falcon reuseable booster, and NASA has recently begun testing Bigelow Aerospace's BEAM inflatable habitats on the International Space Station. Commander Scott Kelly, along with his identical twin brother, Commander Mark Kelly, have both participated in the first experiment to test the effects of long-term space travel on humans, with Scott staying on board the ISS for a year to discover what kinds of hurdles that humanity must jump over to live among the stars.
Due to the easily affordable prices of flat panel displays, it has become increasingly popular to have several of those displays in a conference room, training room, or conference center.
Sometimes they are spread out across the room so no matter where you sit, you have a clear line if sight to the presentation. You can have a fancy (and pricey) matrix switcher with all of your devices plugged into it so you can shoot them to many displays, or you can use the WiPG-2000’s 1-to-Many feature. With the matrix switcher, you're limited by what is hardwired into the switcher, while with wePresent, you can break off any of your connected wePresent units displays use it to display other devices, allowing you to maintain dynamic control of the classroom or meeting area.
We've instituted the option to lock down your wePresent with a 4-digit code, in order to connect. With security concerns running so high these days, we thought it prudent to provide a way to ensure that the people connecting to the wePresent in your room were actually, you know, in your room. There's a few different options regarding the 4-digit code, however, and enabling it requires making some changes in the wePresent's web admin panel. Don't worry though, read on, and you'll see how easy it is...
When it comes to your meeting spaces, lecture halls, and anywhere else you've got space to personalize, it's important that you take advantage of it. We understand better than most that branding is important, and that a unified brand identity is part of any organization's marketing goals. That's why we've included the ability to customize your wePresent with the imagery of your choice on both the startup screen, as well as the screensaver. Curious how to do it? Read on...
She steps into the office around 9:13 AM, thanks to a nasty traffic snarl caused by a jackknifed truck on the freeway. She walks in, hair dripping from the rain, her briefcase slung under one shoulder, and waves at the receptionist as she walks by, making a beeline for the elevator. Up two floors, and she finds the conference room without much hassle. As she walks in, she feels the eyes of her team, who have been waiting on her for sixteen minutes by this point, and she pulls out her laptop and boots it up.
wePresent is proud to announce the second major firmware update for the WiPG-2000, version 188.8.131.52, which adds several exciting new features, as well as a host of optimizations that provide a much smoother and enjoyable wePresent experience.
Being connected is what giving a presentation is all about. Connecting to your audience, connecting to your subject, and connecting to your own speaking skills, all of these (and excuse the repetition) connect in a way that delivers a great message. The content of that message is secondary, it's the connection you make that really matters. Wireless presentation aims to make that connection more visceral, and today, we'll talk about how wePresent helps you adapt to an environment where there is more diversity in connection methods.
