The reality of today's classroom is that, in many ways, it can be far ahead of the modern corporate meeting room. Classroom technology has grown in leaps and bounds in the last decade or so as the concept of active learning spaces has taken hold. As a result, many classrooms already contain pieces of collaboration hardware like SMART boards, touchscreen displays, and similar teaching gear with any level of interactivity, which means that when it comes to a BYOD-capable wireless presentation gateway to take your lesson straight to your student's own devices, sometimes you don't need a full-featured piece of hardware. When your annotation is being done by a SMART board, your video streaming is being done from a laptop, and your WiFi signal is coming from an already-present access point, you need something that does only what wePresent does best: bringing your presentation out of the realm of a simple lecture, and turning it into a collaborative lesson involving everyone in your classroom.
The WiPG-1600 wireless presentation hardware provides a middle-of-the-road solution for those who require the basic functionality of the wePresent, but don’t require some of the more advanced solutions that the WiPG-2000 (or other comparable wireless presentation models) offer. Many schools and offices have already implemented collaborative technology, such as SMART Board displays, which already work with the wePresent hardware. Sensing the need for a more intermediate step, wePresent relased a version of the award-winning wireless hardware with more features than the model it replaces, but at a more moderate price point.
wePresent has had a very busy year, thus far. In February, support for iOS 9 was announced on all wePresent wireless presentation gateways, and in March, Chromebook support followed. This made wePresent the first in their field to support both iOS AirPlay and Chromebook presentation. While the first months of 2016 have been a landmark for innovation and bar-setting at the company, it came off the heels of a year where wePresent took home three separate awards following InfoComm 2015. This new functionality, coupled with these awards, has set wePresent up to be the leading manufacturer of wireless presentation hardware in the coming future, and proven that when it comes to the future of BYOD, they have the maneuverability to react to rapid changes in the makeup of both the corporate in education markets.
We've been touring the WiPG-1600 on the trade show circuit since Q4 2015, but we'd love to give you a chance to see a demonstration. If you're planning on attending any of the Stampede Big Book of AV events, we'll be showcasing it there through May, and in July we'll be taking it to InfoComm 2016. If you've seen the WiPG-1600 in action, and you're ready to take one home and try it out, just give us a ring, and we'll have an evaluation unit sent to you as soon as possible. In any case, you'll want to get in touch with our sales team as soon as possible, so hit the link below!
